Notes for Poster Presentations and Demonstrations

For poster presentations and demonstrations: Each presentation will have one panel on which to post a poster of up to A0 size (maximum), vertically (about 90cm width). The font size should be at least 14 points to allow participants to read the posters while walking through the poster and demo areas. Please also prepare a short (about five minutes) talk for participants.

Submission to Haptic and Audio Interaction Design 2012

HAID 2012 will accept submissions in four categories: full papers (for oral presentation), posters, demonstrations and exhibits/design cases.

Full papers accepted for presentation at HAID 2012 will be published as a volume of Springers LNCS journal series. All accepted full papers must be presented at the HAID 2012 workshop. The deadline for full paper submission is (April 30) May 7, 2012, 17:00 GMT . Authors will be notified about acceptance or rejection by June 01, 2012 (some papers may be recommended for resubmission as posters). The submissions will be subject to double-blind review by at least two members of an international panel. Please note that studies dealing with exclusively technical aspects will, as a general rule, not be considered appropriate for full papers. The submission can be up to 10 pages in Springer LNCS format. Please see Springer LNCS for formatting guidelines.

The deadline for short paper/poster and demonstration submission is June (10) 29, 2012, 17:00 GMT. Authors will be notified about acceptance or rejection by July 21, 2012. The aim of the poster session is to showcase work in progress or late breaking results relevant to any of the themes of the workshop. Short papers/posters and demonstrations proposed to the workshop should be accompanied by 2-3 page short papers in the ACM format. Authors of the accepted submissions are expected to bring actual posters or demonstrations describing their work to HAID 2012. The short papers will be subjected to a review process and distributed to all HAID 2012 registered participants in an electronic form. Copyright will remain with the authors.

We also invite exhibits/design cases. Exhibits are artistic installations making use of touch, gestures and sound. Design cases are products on (or soon on) the market, which make use of haptic and audio feedback in creative ways. The submission is a one page publishable flyer explaining the exhibit or design case. You are quite free to create your own flyer design, but is should contain information about the haptic/audio design. You may attach videos or sound files to your submission. The deadline is the same as for posters and demonstrations: June (10) 18, 2012, 17:00 GMT.

First submissions (of both full and short papers) should be in the PDF format, with all author information omitted until acceptance. Please submit your paper via e-mail to charlotte.magnusson@certec.lth.se. Each submission must be accompanied by a brief text clearly indicating the submission category (i.e. full paper, poster, demonstration or design case).
